Focusing on Organic Fabrics

April 18th, 2007

In keeping with our sustainable and eco-friendly philosophy, Black Eye Design is now focusing on manufacturing products made from organic fabrics. Initially, our line will include certified organic cottons, but will later expand to organic fabrics made from other natural fibers such as hemp, linen, jute etc. We are also in the process of developing “Ahimsa” silk (Ahimsa is a Sanskrit term meaning non-violence) , a fabric made from cocoons where silk worms are not harmed.

Organic fabrics are made from fiber grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, sewage sludge. or ionizing radiation.
